Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
