Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
