Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
