Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
