Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
