The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 [The truly virtuous are] they [who] fulfil their vows, and stand in awe of a Day the woe of which is bound to spread far and wide, 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: 9 "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. 14 And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal 15 goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure. 16 There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger 17 From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths will go about them, when you see them, you would suppose them to be scattered pearls. 19 wherever you look, you will see bliss and a great kingdom: 20 Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. 21 Behold, this is a recompense for you, and your striving is thanked.' 22
