The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). 3 Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; 7 And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive: 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. 13 since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 Godblets of silver, they shall have filled them to exact measure. 16 There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil, 17 From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
