The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? 1 We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. 2 We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will). 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 Surely the pious shall drink of a cup whose mixture is camphor, 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah drink, making it gush forth abundantly, 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, 9 We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". 10 Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold. 13 The shadows will bend over them, and low will hang the clusters of grapes. 14 and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. 18 ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- 19 If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. 20 Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and of brocades. And adorned they shall be with bracelets of silver: and their Lord shall give them drink a beverage pure. 21 This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. 22
