The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. 2 We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. 6 They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 Godblets of silver, they shall have filled them to exact measure. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 From a spring by the name of Ever-flowing-Salsabil. 18 ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 19 when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." 22

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
