The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. 3 Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze. 4 But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. 7 those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they shall behold therein neither sun nor hurting cold. 13 since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 And when you look towards it, you will see serenity and a great kingdom. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22
