The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 We created man from a drop of mingled fluid so that We might try him; We gave him hearing and sight; 2 Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). 3 Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. 4 Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur. 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. 9 Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. 10 Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; 11 And hath awarded them for all that they endured, a Garden and silk attire; 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 A fountain there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. 19 when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
