The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. 12 Where they will recline on couches feeling neither heat of the sun nor intense cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal 15 Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. 16 And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22
