Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till a limit known? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
