Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 until an appointed time? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
