Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
