In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
