Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To clear or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
