Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
