Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
