Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 and the severally severing 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
