Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
