In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is it timed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
