Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
