Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
