50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
