Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known extent. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
