Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
