Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
