Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 separating one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
