Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
