Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
