50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
