In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
