The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
