The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
