The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
