The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
