The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
