The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
