The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
