The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the Great News 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
