The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
