The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
