The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
