The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
