The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 It will be a place of return 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
