The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
