The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
