The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
