The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people together 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
